The wonder of Halloween

It seems that Halloween is like a kids holiday that most kids celebrate for going trick-or-treating and collecting lots and lots of candy. I feel that it is my 2nd favorite holiday of the year. Before it starts, the kids' parents go shopping to get their kids costumes and to buy lots of candy and sometimes they take their kids to select the candy and costumes they want to pick.

I like Halloween a lot because it is a really fun holiday! I always like to help my dad pick out the candy and he will help me select my costume.

They are very happy going to houses and getting as many candy as possible. Some kids like to go trick-or-treating at their own house and that just makes me want to laugh. I think it is a lot of fun to go trick-or-treating. Sometimes people get pumpkins at the local pumpkin patch to turn them into jack-o-lanterns. First, they get a few pumpkins. Second, get a carving knife. Third, cut out the eyes and nose as triangles. Fourth, cut the mouth out. Fifth, you have made your jack-o-lantern.

I heard that if some kids were allergic to candy, those poor kids would have to not go trick-or-treating. Dad asked me if I knew what it would be like if I were allergic to candy. I always think it would be too bad. I am so lucky that I am not allergic to candy.

It seems Halloween passes by so quickly just like the years. First, it starts to be Halloween. Then, in a snap, Halloween is over. Just like I told you in the older post about how I will miss the years and how they are so fast like a fast car on an interstate. After Halloween it will be Thanksgiving. And now when Halloween comes, I will help count how many kids came by and if I had fun, then I will write about it in my blog.

As you see, you know how much I love Halloween. So if you have a fun Halloween, tell me. Thank You.

The magic and joy of writing

If you have read my story about celebrating one year of writing, then you may know that I have been writing this blog for over a year and would like to tell you that you can write just about anything your mind tells you about. For me writing is a way to say things that's hard for me to speak in front of others. When I write I can think and I can concintrate more on what I like to write about. Writing is sometimes hard too because you need to have ideas and a way with expressing it with the right words. It takes time to write naturally and sometimes it seems harder writing when you are not sure exactly what to write.

When I have an idea and something I like, that is when I enjoy writing. My whole point in writing is to share my ideas and vision and express with the words that I feel give it my personal touch. Sometimes I have so many ideas in my head that it's hard to know exactly which one to work with. If I write about something I did with my family, then it seems easier because I am relating something that actally happened like going to the movies or the beach. I like this kind of writing because I am expressing fun things I did with mom and dad and grandma. I would also like to write about my experiences at camp and playing with the other kids because I'm a kid and I want to write about the friends I meet and the fun things I did at camp. If you read my blog when I went to Camp Kehilla, you would see how much I enjoyed it. I miss the camp and could not go this past summer since my family's on a budget. Mom and Dad promised though that I would go to a Summer program in school with fun activities and kids my age. They are trying to help me in my development.

I like to write about my family life and sometimes wished I had a brother or sister to grow up with. Mom and Dad really love me and they always say how much they love me and I say back "you tell me that evrey day". LOL. When mom kisses me, I say "ewww, gross". I even say the same thing when my daddy kisses me. This past weekend was a really fun weekend because I went to Sunken Meadow State Park with mommy and grandma and then at night I went to Wal-Mart to by halloween candy and my astronaut costume and then after that we went to see Secretariat in the movies at Loews in Levittown. After the movie we went to Wendy's to get a late dinner and then we went home and dad gave me my medicine after I ate my chicken nuggets and french fries. After my medication I kissed mom goodnight and dad tucked me into my bed and promised me we would go trick-or-treating for Halloween which was Sunday. Halloween was a lot of fun giving out all the candy to all the kids. I counted the amount of kids that came to the house and how many bags of candy we had left. We needed to make sure we had enough and it turned out that we had more than enough as less kids came this year than last year.

Just use your imagination

It seems that all of us use our imagination for some reason. I do too and since my last posts about pop, I have told you that I imagine that my grandpa is still alive. Even if one of your best friends aren't here anymore, you can always still imagine that they're still here. I do too and that's all you need to make your life so much better.

Sometimes at night when I am trying to sleep, I think back to times when I was just a little kid and how things seemed so much more simpler. I remember when mom would read my favorite Dr. Seuss books like The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham. Those were good books and I would always have a smile and a kiss for my mom because I know how much she loves me. Dad would always come up too to give me a good night kiss and tuck me in the bed after mom kissed me too.

I am still a young kid and still mom still reads to me sometimes which brings me back to that time. I am old enough to read myself to sleep. Reading is a lot of fun because you can read many types of books and they all have different stories and some are very magical as they take you on a journey. My favorite book series is The Magic Tree House and I have read about 6 or 7 of the books. My favorite book is the one about the dinosaurs. It's cool because it takes you back in time to the prehistoric age.

Grandpa sometimes came over to read stories and play legos with me. Sometimes pop would pretend to crack an egg on my head and rub his hands. I would also show pop my domino chain which I would start on one side of the room and end on the other side and pop would always say that there is no limit of how far you can go. He would always tell me that I could do anything in my life if I set my mind to it. He also said that the more you see, the more you can imagine. And when you can imagine, you also can dream and when you dream, you feel happy.

As the time has gone by and I no longer see my pop, I feel he's in a good place and I speak to him in my prayers. I also hold my daddy's hands and I always tell him to always remember your dad. In fact, we had just celebrated pop's birthday and I asked dad to get a birthday cake as a remembrance of him and we even sang happy birthday to pop and I gave my daddy a hug and I said "it will be okay, pop is in a good place with grandma" and daddy hugged me back and said "thank you". I like to imagine happy things and if I see something I don't like, I try to think of a good thing because I want to smile instead of crying. I enjoy having good times with mommy and daddy and I enjoy going to fun places. We have went to Great Adventure, Hershey Park, Dorney Park, Adventureland, and Fun Zone. I think it is so much fun to go places you want to go. But remember that you can do just about anything or be anyone you want because that is what you like.

Why I pretend that my grandpa is still alive

There are a few reasons why I pretend that Pop is still alive. First of all, I don't like to talk about deaths or injuries because they are very hurtful to my heart and make me cry. Second, I think those words are very harmful and bad language. That's why sometimes I say it is a bad word. I know you don't want to hear the story either, but let's just start simple, not sadly.

I don't like to watch the news because most of the time they say that either someone died or got hurt. And I don't like cemeteries because they are so sad to explain about. I don't like to hear when my dad says that he misses his father because he is always there in his heart. Also, I still believe that he is still alive for real and in my heart. I seem to wonder why my dad doesn't have belief in his heart. It must probably be an adult's secret that has never been revealed to kids. I don't know why and I sure hope he gets into his mind. I feel very sad so much these days because life is just getting worse each year. I sure hope the world improves before 2020 or 2100.

There are many more other reasons why I pretend that my grandpa (Pop) is still here. But let's just say that if he were for real, I'd be much more happier than usual. Isn't that right? If so, I bet you think the same thing I do, and even if you were my dad, then you'd understand. So please have just a little beliefs in your heart.

To dad:

I know he is not here anymore, but please, I just want you to make me happy, because you are my father and I love you so very much. Thank You.

Happy Birthday Grandpa 2010: We'll miss you Pop!

Today is my grandpa's birthday! If he were still here today, he would be 75 years old! I know that because I just subtracted from 2010 minus the year he was born. I am so very happy for him today but I feel very sad about what happened to him over a year ago. To me I think he is still alive today but I know he's really not. I feel very sad and I miss him so very much. I am writing this story because I love my grandpa so much.

Today on my grandpa's birthday, Dad bought us some cake to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. We pretended he was still alive. The cake was good! We sang happy birthday to Pop and he blew out the candles and made his 75th wish just for fun. We had a good time and I pretended that Pop was here.

Even though Pop is not here anymore I pretend he is because I care for him very much and always will. He will always be in mine, Dad's, Mom's, Grandma's, my fake brother SpongeBob's, and even your heart.

Crazy about cartoons

Since I was a little boy, I used to love watching cartoons on TV and I still do. I like watching cartoons on Cartoon Network. I used to like watching cartoons on Nickelodeon but as time went by, the cartoons on Nickelodeon got worse than ever. I still like Cartoon Network because their cartoons are much better than Nickelodeon's current cartoons. My favorite cartoons are SpongeBob SquarePants, The Garfield Show, The Flintstones, Scooby-Doo!, Tom & Jerry, etc. kids cartoons. I know a few of them are not on anymore, but I have IO cable. That's why a few of them not on regular cable are on the list. And I also like Saturday morning cartoons too. That is a reason why I like Saturday.

My favorite cartoons on Nickelodeon are SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents, The Penguins of Madagascar, and Rugrats. I know a couple of them are not on anymore, but I still liked watching it before.
My favorite cartoons on Cartoon Network are The Garfield Show, Scooby-Doo!, The Flintstones, and a few others. Some of them might not be on anymore but I still liked them.

My favorite cartoons on Disney Channel are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, House of Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Recess, Donald Duck, Lilo & Stitch: The Series, Dave the Barbarian, and Aladdin: The Series. Some of them are not on anymore but one of them is still on.

As the years pass by we may move on to extremely violent cartoons like The Simpsons and Family Guy but I will just stay the way I am as long as possible. I love those cartoons and always will. I may change when I grow up but I will never ever outgrow those cartoons because they will be in my mind forever. The End.

Dad is leaving to go to China :,(

Oh no! My dad is going to China for his work. He has told me that a few weeks ago and like always, I will miss him. He will be gone for about a week. He always tells me to behave while he's gone. I will not be able to reach him by phone because he will be so far away. He said today that he will be leaving by next week. He will also need a passport because he will be on a big plane. I will be very sad to say goodbye to him before he leaves. And also, before he leaves, I promise my best of all that I will do better in school. I love my dad and he loves me. I sure wish my dad still had some more time to spend with me. And I also asked him if he could surprise me by bringing me a little toy from China. I truly care for my dad because he means a lot to me.

To dad:

I will miss you when you will leave for China. I hope you have a good time there and oh, don't forget to bring me a surprise toy from China. I also hope you get there and back home safely. I promise with all my heart, that I will do a lot better in school . I will miss you so much. Mom, Grandma, and my fake brother SpongeBob will all miss you too. Thank You.

Happy Birthday Grandma 2010

Yesterday, it was Grandma's birthday. We had a fun time at her 70th birthday party at Friendly's. We threw grandma 2 surprises. The first one was at a restaurant in Manhasset called Benihana. The second one was at the Levittown Friendly's restaurant. Now I will tell you about what we did there.

On Saturday, October 9th, we went to Benihana to surprise grandma. After we took grandma to church, mom had a secret to tell me. She told me not to tell this to grandma. She said "we will be taking Grandma to Benihana for her early birthday party". When it was time to go, grandma asked where we were going and I told her it was a surprise. When we got to the restaurant, grandma was so surprised because they prepared 2 long tables. We had a late lunch there and after that, we ate cake. I didn't really eat anything there because they didn't really have anything that I liked there. But the best part was that we got to see the chef cook the food on the long table. It was very cool! Then we got grandma her cake. Dad was late for the party, so he missed some parts of the party. We sang happy birthday to grandma and she made her 70th wish. I teased to her "now you have to make 69 more wishes because you are 70 years old and that means 70 wishes". Grandma's wish was for good health and many more years to come. After that we took a few pictures of us standing in the restaurant and standing outside of the restaurant. Then the ladies went to the Crazy Donkey restaurant on Route 110. I did not want to be with the girls, so I took a little ride with dad.

On Thursday, October 14th, it was Grandma's birthday so we went to Friendly's for dinner to celebrate Grandma's birthday party. We got a cake for Grandma to take home.

I had a very fun time at Grandma's birthday party. I am glad that grandma had a good 70th birthday party. Grandma liked her surprise and I was happy that she had a good time. Grandma thanked me for the surprise and for the party. I write about that because she means a lot to me and I will always love her forever. I love you so much grandma! I will always love you!

What I like about Fall (Autumn)

Sometimes when the Summer ends and Fall (a.k.a. Autumn) starts to come I feel a little happy but sometimes a little sad because I might miss Summer and swimming in the pool. But now we have to go back to school and learn more about the world around us. When school starts every September I always try my best to be on my best behavior like my mom and dad always tell me to. In my feelings I think that Fall is my 3rd favorite season out of all 4 of them.

The things I like about Fall are when I can see the leaves change colors. It is so amazing when you can watch the leaves change colors and fall off of the trees. Another thing I like is when I can jump in the pile of leaves for fun. Sometimes I like to help my parents rake the yard. It is so much fun to help my parents but still of course it is a lot of work. On the last day of October I like to go trick-or-treating on Halloween, help sort the candy, help count how many kids come to the house, and collect lots and lots of candy. On Columbus Day if school is cancelled, I like to do whatever I want. On Thanksgiving, I help mom out in the kitchen and setting up the tables. Those are all the things I like about Fall.

The things I don't like about Fall are when the weather gets colder. But at least it's much better than Winter weather. Another thing I don't like is that Summer is over and we have to go back to school. But I know I have to so I can get my education. I also don't like when Fall ends. Those are all the things I don't like about Fall.

After a while, Fall becomes Winter and then snow starts to come. It is sometimes sad to say goodbye to Fall, but Winter is still a good season, even though it is my least favorite. All the seasons go by so fast, but not too fast, because they will be in your memory forever, even Fall. That's why I write a story about Fall, because I like it. And don't worry, we will never forget Fall because we love it so much. Thank you Fall!

Having fun going to the movies with Dad

Since I was a little boy, I loved going to the movie theater to see a new movie and if I loved it a lot, I would see it another time. If I liked it a little bit, I would only see it once. Sometimes I see movies about 2 or 3 times. Sometimes I missed a movie that I would have liked and if it wasn't playing in the theatres anymore, I would like to get it on DVD or Blue-ray because I missed it.

I like going to the movies. My favorite places to see a movie are at the Levittown Loews, Broadway Multiplex Theatre, Farmingdale Multiplex Theatre and Westbury Loews. My favorite movies to see are Pixar movies, Disney movies and Dreamworks Animation movies. I only like to see children's movies. The only ratings of children's movies that I like to see are rated G and PG movies. If I like it, I like to get it on DVD or Blue-ray. Sometimes I like to get classic children's movies to complete my collection. Sometimes if I only have that kind of movie on VHS, I might like to get it on DVD because I hear that videos are no longer sold in stores. If I like that movie and I only have it on VHS, that is why I get it on DVD. If I saw that movie in the theatre and I didn't like it that much, I might not buy that movie when it comes out on DVD.

Everyone likes seeing movies. Right? I do too and when I grow up and I have kids, I would like to have a really big collection of movies and show them to my kids and teach them how they work. I will also tell them about videotapes. Do you know what I will do to all of those videos? I will keep them in display in my house in a big box of videos. And also, that's right, when I'm grown up, I will teach them about display and yes, how people used to insert the video.

As we grow up, we all change and may start to like violent movies and even ones with bad words. And we may also outgrow children's movies but I will not. I may also start to like those kind of movies but the thing I don't like is the bad words. When I get older, I will not, no matter what, ever outgrow children's movies because they are much safer and funny and best of all, happy. And classic movies will be in my heart forever and ever because they also make us happy. And last, I will never outgrow classic movies. They make me happy and you too. The End.

Going on road trips with my Dad

Over the summer, I have went on a few road trips with my Dad. I will announce the road trips that I have been on this summer.

The following things below are the places I have been to this summer. First, I have gone to Jones Beach only once with my dad, my grandma, and my fake brother SpongeBob. We went there in the end of May. I know that May is not part of summer, but we just did it to pretend that it was early summer. Next, I went for a ride with dad and my fake brother on Father's Day. After that, we went to the Robert Moses Beach in Suffolk County on July 3rd. That was the first time out of two times that we went to that same beach. That time we forgot to bring our stuff. We took a video of it on my dad's YouTube channel name called ediann. The second time we went there it was the fourth of July. We remembered to bring our stuff that time. We had a fun time going there. Another place we have went to was to Riverhead. We went so far that I wanted to go home. Dad didn't listen but I was upset and tired from riding in the car so I fell asleep. We also went to Dorothy's house. Another place we went to was the Newbridge Pool to cool down in the water. Dad told me that it was the pool he used to go to when he was a kid. When we were there and we saw my dad jump over the diving board and I was amazed, he told me that when he was about a teenager he tried to dive over the diving board and he got very hurt that there was blood in the water and he had to be taken to the hospital. I felt very sorry for him just like when he told me years ago that he was riding on his bike and then he fell off his bike and he was bleeding a lot. Then he had to be rushed to the hospital and they found out that he had a scar. He had broken bones and as the years passed by, it got so much better. And don't forget that we went to the Splish Splash water park in Riverhead. We had a lot of fun there and I found out that it was my last time in the water for the Summer. We also went to New Jersey to go to the Willowbrook Mall to get fruit slices. Before we got there we passed the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. That was the bridge that my grandfather helped work on. The last place we went to this summer was Dorney Park to go on some rides. We had a lot of fun going on road trips with my Dad this summer.

There are many places you can go to or visit someday. The best part is that if you want to have a memory of it, you have to make a video of it on your camera and post it on YouTube. If you go to a place you want to go to, you can. Thank you.
